This was our first show out on Long Island, which was an interesting experience.  We don’t really know anyone or have a fanbase to speak of that far out, but we were excited for the chance to be part of a progressive metal show, and to play for people who wouldn’t hear our music otherwise.

The crowd was a little more “polite” than we’re accustomed to – not comfortable with getting close to the stage or showing that much enthusiasm.  They seemed to enjoy themselves somewhat, but it was just a mellow group of people.  Anyway, we persevered and managed to play a good set, especially Keith, who I thought had his best show yet.  Having adequate monitors really makes a world of difference for vocals.

In the end, it was sort of a strange show, but we still had a lot of fun.  Plus we met some very cool bands, which doesn’t always happen at the random sorts of shows we tend to play.  Also Anthony from Piercing Silence made me start dreaming of a 6-string bass again.  One day, Joe.  One day.
